A Message for You
The Neighborhood Park – My husband nicknamed “Brownstone Park”
Place where Nitro and Buddy like to ‘Smell’ the Sights
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good Thursday morning to you.
Enough about my dog children, right?
This park is a favorite spot.
A place of prayer, meditation, and reflection.
The ambience lends itself for feeling calm and peaceful. A place to clear the mind.
During my recent difficult years, I spent many moments right here.
So why should I post this photo today?
Because I am reflecting on my new MWT blog… and you, The Reader.
WHAT’S WORKED?
Taking a breather on my life advice column… and just sharing thoughts with you.
A basic conversation.
I really have so many topics to send your way. But today, I exhaling and re-evaluating the format and features of my new blog. Which posts were well-received? Which posts were way too long?
I’m taking notice and responding to what you want to read.
Hopefully, you’ve noticed that I’ve added more pictures.
Originally, I was going to insert photos only on my Fun Friday’s. But quality feedback has urged me to include more pictures to break up my prolific content. In fact, I plan to go back and add photos to some of my old posts in the next few days.
For those who have already left wonderful comments, I just located them!
I’m so sorry. But thank you. Thank you for leaving kind words for me. You don’t know how much I appreciate your feedback.
I am still learning about the workings of my website. Thank you for being patient.
WORDS ARE POWERFUL INSTRUMENTS
What’s that old adage?
Sticks and Stones may break your bones….but WORDS can break your heart.
I’ve made no ‘bones’ about it. I love words. Both written and spoken.
I respect words. I understand their power to help….and to harm.
And I find words are used… as weapons… just as much as they are used… as well wishes.
So many times, words are used to dole out a ‘gotcha’ moment embarrassing the unsuspecting recipient.
‘Pretty’ words are used for a passive-aggressive put down even in polite, ‘friendly’ settings. The words, at face value, are just fine. But the ears of the receiver know fully well the true negative intention.
On the flipside, nothing is more disappointing than the ‘unspoken’ word. When the greatly needed and blaringly obvious word of encouragement and kindness is left un-said. In my opinion, this is the worst way a word is used….or in this case, unused.
So how do these thoughts relate back to you?
I want my blog to be a place where Words are used for only good purposes. To be motivating. And encouraging. And hopeful. And kind. And whatever you might need that day you read.
My sincere hope is: When you visit My Written Thoughts, you will only find words that leave you feeling more positive.
It’s an honor to write words to you each day. Thank you for reading.
IN THE LINE-UP…..tomorrow and next week.
In the line-up for tomorrow, I have a Fun Friday post which is both entertaining and inspirational. As always, Friday’s articles are short and sweet to end our week!
But next week, I plan to write about something very near and dear to me. Dyslexia.
And I have a humorous piece on…The Mother of the Groom.
