About Lisa

Biographical Information

As an author and blogger, Lisa’s writing is unedited and candid about her life’s triumphs, travails and tragedies. She has compiled and condensed decades of private and personal experiences into words full of life advice.

Lisa’s article detailing her son’s search for an ideal college as a Division I athlete was published in a national magazine.  This publication launched a new career in college admissions coaching.

After working in downtown Houston as a Vice President of Business Development, Lisa made a most difficult decision to leave a career which she enjoyed and valued – to focus her time and attention on her two young sons.

With a personal perspective from both angles of momhood: Working (outside-of-the-home) mom and Stay-at-home (working 24/7) mom, her writing clearly reflects the different seasons and cycles of her life.

Lisa trained to become a tutor for Dyslexic children after one of her sons was diagnosed at age seven. She embarked on a lifelong mission as an educational advocate for her beloved son…and later on, for her many students.  To this day, Lisa cherishes her work as a tutor.

During her tenure as a stay-at-home mom, Lisa created web content for new, local businesses and was active in chairing fundraising efforts for school organizations.   In addition, she recently designed print advertising campaigns for publication in local newspapers and community magazines.

Now that her two sons have graduated from college and embarked on their own lives thousands of miles away from home… Lisa and her husband, David, enjoy a ‘not-so-empty nest’ with their precious and adorable Chihuahua grandson, Oliver (Ollie).

And notice the LSU shirt!  David and Lisa love all-things LSU Tigers! They met on the campus and knew they were meant to spend the rest of their lives together – forever.
