The Blue Zone Meets Marie Kondo

My Blue Zone Guides are conveniently located in my kitchen for quick, daily reference.

Good Friday to you all.

So here’s a few motivating words for those readers who want to “Blue Zone” their kitchen space.

“Winston Churchill famously said, “Shape your surroundings and they will shape you.” (The Blue Zone Challenge – page 61)

Setting up my environment for healthy eating included my obsession with KonMari – the Japanese art of tidying by Marie Kondo of Netflix fame.

Here’s some photos for you to see how I transformed my messy pantry and spice rack in just a few hours. [The key to this process is TOTALLY clear out all items!]

I cleaned the shelves and began stocking my pantry in a Blue Zone-friendly fashion.

Deciding what foods and ingredients should be returned to my ‘healthy’ pantry
KonMari-ing my Blue Zone. And in full disclosure, I did keep my baking ingredients since I have family members who are still enjoying baked goods! Just not ME!

Wanted to share these photos with you because this process is NOT as difficult and time-consuming as one might think. I had budgeted a whole day to complete this task, and it only took a few hours. So my message to you before the weekend begins….is take a few hours and Blue Zone/ KonMari your pantry to set yourself up for success!

And, if you are adopting another method or mission in 2022 – create a pantry which coincides with Weight Watchers, NOOM, or any other program.

Editing your pantry will serve you well.

Happy Weekend, Readers! Come back next week.
