Thankful for…

Designed for me!
During my quarantined Birthday
CURIOUS CAT – design title

I have written too much about COVID.

And before that, it was all about my KonMari journey. I appreciate your forgiveness regarding my free-floating stream of thought.

Enough Coronavirus. Okay?

Let me share some positivity and praise – for the good stuff in life.

I am so thankful for…..

  • my blog. To write down my thoughts – some of which should probably remain unwritten.
  • my love of writing. Period. Writing is a gift. It makes me happy and fulfilled. Sometimes, I find myself smiling as I type. True, but wierd, I know.
  • good people in my life. Like Cristina – talented and creative fashion designer who made that incredible cat print for my quarantined birthday.
  • good people in my life, again. Like Cristina’s family who exhibited love and concern and grace that few have ever shown my family.
  • my chihuahua grandson. enough said. a joy in every way. pure and simple wonderfulness on four legs with a tiny tail.
  • my home office….my happy place on earth. I look forward to walking through that door every morning.
  • something that goes without saying, but needs to be written. I am thankful that I couldn’t afford my first choice college (TCU). And thankful I went to LSU – where I fell in love with my Fighting Tigers football team (Geaux Tigers!) and where I met and fell in love with my beloved, future husband.
  • being able to experience motherhood – the purest of joys. And for the deepest, uncomforable emotions, too. The visceral reaction caused by the fear of something bad happening to your children…. or wanting a good life for them so much so that it was felt on a molecular level. Both the pleasant and the unbearable – I am thankful for the experience of living life.
  • being adopted. Few know that about me. But I am blessed to have come to this country as an infant. Even though I don’t agree or identify with a political party, per se…. ( I am a bona fide centrist moderate.)…I am incredibly honored to be a citizen and still tear up when I hear patriot songs.
  • EVERYTHING. The goodness in my life. And the unspeakable ugly, too. I take the stance that both elements should be embraced and celebrated because it makes us who we are. Positive events and people motivate us to be extraordinary humans and generous contributors. But the defeating disappointments in life make us humble and empathetic ….while the nasty people in my life give me invaluable wisdom on how NOT to be.
  • being a writer. I know I mentioned that already. But when I write, I really love my life. I hope that feeling never goes away. It is my highest privilege to think a random thought…. write a sentence…. and have a stranger in a country I’ve never visited….read my words and share it with a friend.
  • my readers. Thank you. Thank you so very much, indeed.

Stay safe. Stay strong.
